Northreach Community Care

Northreach Community Care exists to serve our community
through the practical outworking of our Christian faith. Our work is grounded
in the following objects, as established in our Constitution:

To advance the Christian religion and to preach and teach
and generally to further the cause of the Gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ and
to work for the building up and extension and renewal of the Christian Church.

To provide safe, secure, appropriate and affordable social
housing to people experiencing or at risk of homelessness in Queensland,
particularly in the Townsville area.

To provide a Christ centered ministry for the relief of
poverty, sickness, suffering, distress, misfortune, disability or helplessness
of people, and to work proactively to enhance the physical, emotional and
spiritual wellbeing of people, in the communities of Queensland in Townsville
without discrimination due to age, sex, race, ethnic background, religion,
political beliefs or marital status.

Community Housing

Providing safe, secure and affordable homes in our community

Northreach Community Care (NCC) has a long-standing commitment to providing safe, secure and affordable housing for people in our local community who are experiencing housing need.

Our Community Housing provides homes for eligible tenants in partnership with government and community housing programs. We recognise that secure housing is more than having a roof overhead. It provides stability, dignity and a foundation from which people can participate more fully in community life.

Our Commitment

Through Northreach Community Housing, we seek to:

  • Provide well-maintained, affordable and appropriate housing for eligible tenants.
  • Respond to the significant need for social and affordable housing in the Townsville community.
  • Provide housing that supports people to live with dignity, security and greater independence.
  • Develop and manage housing responsibly for the long-term benefit of our community.
  • Work constructively with government, housing agencies and community partners.
  • Demonstrate the practical care and compassion that are at the heart of Northreach Community Care.

Northreach has been involved in community housing for over four decades and continues to invest in its future. Our existing housing provides homes for people within our community, while significant new development is underway to increase the number of homes available to those who need them.

For NCC, Community Housing is about more than buildings. It is about people, dignity and creating safe places to call home.

thank you coffee

Thank You Coffee is a ministry of Northreach Baptist Church, bringing hope and encouragement to Townsville through our four C’s: Coffee, Community, Connection and Conversation.

Our team visits local schools, emergency services, youth detention facilities and community organisations, sharing free coffee, expressing gratitude and building meaningful relationships.

In 2024, we celebrated giving away 10,000 cups of coffee in just three years!

Through our pay-it-forward model, individuals, businesses and organisations can help us continue sharing encouragement across our city — one cup at a time.
