What to Expect

Visiting a new church can feel intimidating, but at Northreach Baptist Church we want you to feel welcomed, relaxed, and at home from the moment you arrive.

Whether you’re exploring faith, returning to church, or looking for a church in Townsville, we’re excited to meet you and walk alongside you on your journey.

Come as you are! There’s no dress code at Northreach.

You’ll find people wearing everything from shorts and a T-shirt to smart casual clothes, so simply wear whatever you feel comfortable in. North Queensland is pretty relaxed, and so are we!

What matters to us isn’t what you’re wearing, but that you feel welcome and at home when you arrive.

Just come as you are, we’d love to meet you.

Our 9:30am service is a vibrant, multigenerational gathering with people of all ages and stages of life. During the service, we offer Kids Church for children and a Youth Bible Study for high school aged. After the service, everyone is invited to join us in the café for a relaxed time of connection over a coffee or cold drink.

Our 5:30pm service has a relaxed, contemporary feel and is especially popular with young adults and young families but
everyone is welcome.

Whether you’ve been following Jesus for years, are exploring faith, or are simply looking for a church community, we’d love to welcome you to Northreach this Sunday.

You’ll find us at 38 Canterbury Road, Kirwan, just up the road from from Willows Shopping Centre.

There’s plenty happening for kids and young people at Northreach! Kids Church runs during our 9:30am service for children from Kindy to Year 6. Simply sign your kids in when you arrive, and they can be picked up after the service.

For teens, we have Youth Bible Study on Sunday mornings, with the youth heading out after the announcements. As well as Youth on a Friday night 6:30-9pm.

We also have a baby room with a view into the auditorium and a toddler space in the café, so you can still be part of the service while your little ones have some space to move around.

Absolutely! You’re very welcome. You don’t need to be a Christian, know the Bible or have everything figured out to come along. Participate as much or as little as you feel comfortable with.

And if you’ve got questions about church, Jesus or faith, we’d love to chat. Our pastors are usually around the front after a service, or you can contact us below.

Yes! Our 9:30am service is streamed live on YouTube and Facebook, so you can join us online if you can’t make it in person. You can also catch up on past services anytime on our YouTube channel.

After our 9:30am service, our café is open for morning tea, coffee and a chance to hang around and connect with others. Our hospitality team will have coffee and refreshments ready to go.

After our 5:30pm service, things can look a little different each week. Sometimes we’ll have food together, head out for dinner, play some cards or sports, or simply hang out in the café. It’s a relaxed way to get to know people and build community.

We’ve got plenty of parking available right here at church. You can park anywhere in our main carpark, including accessible parking spaces.

We want everyone to feel welcome and able to participate.

We have accessible parking, an accessible toilet and wheelchair-friendly seating throughout the auditorium.
